Sioux Links had the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the new Sanford Sports Science Institute (SSSI) located inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Terry Vandrovec, Lead Marketing Specialist at the Sanford Sports Complex, provided a tour of the SSSI which contains state-of-the-art equipment that monitors a golfers swing and offers a unique perspective.
Levi Pole, P.T., Director of Golf, and Titleist Performance Institute Medical Level 3 certified said:
"A golf swing is a complex set of movements, and the high tech sensors and cameras capture data and produce results that can identify a potential injury that a golfer may experience."
Getting a movement evaluation can determine what part of your game they can improve. An assessment can include flexibility drills and strength training exercises. Advanced strategies can consist of one-on-one strength and conditioning programs, fitness programs, and more that target specific golfer issues. Levi's background as a Physical Therapist provides a fantastic perspective on how the body moves and making a more efficient golf swing.
