If football is a game of inches is golf a game of yards? Consider how much time is spent deciding what club to use. I ask myself, is that 150 or 140? Downhill with a wind behind me...and I want to leave the ball short of the hole. It's no wonder how a yard difference here or there can make a huge difference.

I read on USGolfTVs website that you can save 4-6 strokes per round just by knowing the distance that you can hit each club. Utilizing the Swing Caddie, you can begin to establish a set range for each club. Great! That's all I needed then right? Not exactly the case. Puting that knowledge into action is the next task.

On the course, I sometimes find myself not trusting the yardage stakes. When I get to a new course I am wondering if the white stake is 150 or something else?
A blue flag means a back pin location...I think. So add ten yards subtract five as the green slopes to the back. Simple right? Just grab a club and hit the ball!

This season, I have been using the TecTecTec VPRO DLXS and it has changed the game for me. I have never owned a laser rangefinder but knew the obvious benefits of owning one and this model is really easy to use! It took hardly any time to learn how to use and his helped improve my approach shots. I get the exact yardage within one yard, no questions asked. The VPRO DLXS uses the latest in rangefinder technology making it more accurate than others on the market. Distance is measured clearly thanks to its clear 6x magnification and the diopter adjustment functionality always a clear view.

I've heard naysayers complain that rangefinders will slow play down. I think it's quite the opposite. I've seen golfers debate what club to use on a par three because they aren't sure the yardage. Scorecard yardage considers middle pin locations and the standard tee box spot. Sprinkler head yardage marks are measurements to the center of the green too. A rangefinder eliminates all doubt. Of course, cart GPS will be very accurate as that yardage will take into account the current pin location.

Pros:

Lightweight, portable and accurate (+/- one yard up to 600 yards).

Pinslope technology allows for slope compensation. Calculates the elevation (uphill or downhill) adjusted distance to the target.

TecTecTec has a 2-year warranty and 30-day money back guarantee.

And it is rainproof!

Cons:

Are there any drawbacks? The only one I could find is that some course don't have reflectors on their pins making it more difficult for the laser to bounce back to the rangefinder. That was until I found First Target Priority mode. It displays the distance of the closest subject, perfect when measuring the distance to the pin with trees behind it.

TecTecTec has a tool to help you find the right rangefinder for you. Their comparison chart will help you decide. Be sure to follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
